Ensemble Mediterraneo - Istanbul Midnight

Istanbul Midnight Project is een wereldmuziek concert met de instrumenten en muzikale composities van klassieke Ottomaanse stukken (Turkse klassieke muziek uit de periode van het Ottomaanse rijk). Deze muziekstijl heet Fasil en is vergelijkbaar met een suite in westerse muziek.

Het vocale en instrumentele deel bevat standaard klassieke composities met een moderne kijk. Dit laat ruimte voor de muzikanten om westerse instrumenten te gebruiken in Makam muziek.

Het tweede deel zal een moderne kruising zijn tussen modaliteit, jazz en latino. Hierbij wordt er met respect omgegaan met de afkomst van de verschillende muziekstijlen

Istanbul Midnight, A world music concert that will present instrumental and vocal compositions of Classical Ottoman music style played in Fasil Nihavent, which is a significant form similar to the Suite in western classical music.
